An aspiring Indonesian pianist, Gabriella Prisca Handoko, was a silver medalist of the 2019 Steinway Junior Competition and first prize winner of the Ananda Sukarlan Award International Piano Competition. She won the second prize of the 2018 Los Angeles International Liszt Competition, and was a Prize Winner, and Scholarship and Judges’ Distinction Award recipient of the American Protégé International Music Talent Competition. She has performed in world premiere stages, such as the Sydney Opera House and Carnegie Hall.

As a recipient of the Indonesian World Records Museum (MURI), Gabriella made her Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No.5 “Emperor” debut at the age of 14, and was the youngest Indonesian pianist to have performed complete works by George Gershwin, including his renowned Rhapsody in Blue.

With her desire to keep Indonesian Classical music alive, she was one of the performers of the first-ever Indonesia Pusaka Recital at the Carnegie Hall, alongside the respected Indonesian composer and pianist, Jaya Suprana. In recent years, she has also performed with the astounding Indonesian pianist and composer, Ananda Sukarlan, and engaged in his collaborative projects with the Ministry of Education and Culture — including the Rapsodia Nusantara Tour to promote Indonesia Historical Sites to UNESCO as the World Heritage list.

In 2017, Gabriella left Indonesia to study with Ory Shihor at the Ory Shihor Institute in Los Angeles. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s of Music Degree at the Peabody Institute, working with Steven Spooner. Discovering her passion and love for chamber music, Gabriella was a recipient of the Chamber Music Sidney Friedberg Prize, and has contributed in collaborative projects and performances in recent years.
